World Book Day

Children from Junior Infants to Second Class dressed up today for World Book Day. There were some fantastic outfits with Harry Potter definately being the most popular.

Rowing

#corksportspartnership 6th class participating in a 6 week block of rowing lessons with Cork Boat Club. A Big thank you to Corks Sports Partnership for helping with this.

New Maths Resources

The school has purchased new of Maths equipment for the school. Thank you to the Parents’ Association for donating the money for these resources. Resources have been purchased to aid teaching and learning in all strands of the curriculum.

Swimming

Congratulations to the school swimming team who competed in the National Finals in Dublin last Sunday. All of the girls did fantastic with new personal bests being broken throughout the day. Thank you to the parents who brought the team and a special mention to Val for organising the team throughout the year.

IWISH

6th class girls were in City Hall today for the IWISH conference. The conference offered the girls a wonderful insight in to the possibilities that Science Technology Engineering and Maths, STEM, has to offer. The girls had a fantastic time visiting the many stalls and brought plenty of “goodies” back to school with them.

Students Council

The first Students Council has been elected in Ballintemple National School with a boy and a girl from 3rd to 6th class taking their places on the council. Andrew and Alice from 6th class are acting as joint Chairpersons.
