Congratulations to the school swimming team who recently competed in the National Swimming Championships in Dublin. The girls freestyle relay team came 5th in the final and the medley relay team came 7th in their final. The girls represented the school extremely well and we are all very proud of their efforts.
The sixth class children had a wonderful day at UCC celebrating the WiSTEM society’s day to coincide with International Women’s Day.. Thank you to I-WISH and WiSTEM for inviting us.
Ms. Clancy’s 3rd class constructed green energy houses from renewal materials. They learned about renewal energy and the need for a greener future. #greenenergy#STEAM

The victorious Blackrock Intermediate hurling team visited the school recently following on from their County success. Congratulations to all involved.
The girls football team competed in the Allianz Sciath na Scoil final against a very strong Rathpeacon team. After a titanic battle, Rathpeacon ran out victorious on a score line of 2-9 to 2-0. The school community is extremely proud of the girls for getting to the final and for the commitment and dedication they have shown since the start of the year. Thank you to Mr. Lucey, Ms. Harrington and Mr. Murphy for training the boys and girls football teams.
Congratulations to the girls Sciath na Scoil football team who have qualified for the final against Rathpeacon. They had a fantastic extra-time victory over Glenville in the semi-final.
We had a wonderful Sports Day in Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Monday, 17th June as part of our Active Week. Thank you to all the parents and friends of the school who came in to coach the children during the week. A special thank you to Ms. Harnedy for organising the week’s activities and Mr. Lucey for organising the Sports Day.
Congratulations to the boys and girls athletics team who competed in the annual Cork City Sports in CIT. All did fantastic, bringing home a total of 14 trophies with the girls winning best school in our section and the two boys relay teams coming second. Thank you to Mr. Lucey and Ms. Kennedy for training the children over the past number of weeks and thank you to the parents for the wonderful support today.
A big thank you to Munster and Irish rugby star Peter O’Mahony for visiting the school today. The children received some wonderful advice from Peter and asked him some excellent questions.
