Congratulations to the girls Sciath na Scoil football team who have qualified for the final against Rathpeacon. They had a fantastic extra-time victory over Glenville in the semi-final.
We had a wonderful Sports Day in Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Monday, 17th June as part of our Active Week. Thank you to all the parents and friends of the school who came in to coach the children during the week. A special thank you to Ms. Harnedy for organising the week’s activities and Mr. Lucey for organising the Sports Day.
Congratulations to the boys and girls athletics team who competed in the annual Cork City Sports in CIT. All did fantastic, bringing home a total of 14 trophies with the girls winning best school in our section and the two boys relay teams coming second. Thank you to Mr. Lucey and Ms. Kennedy for training the children over the past number of weeks and thank you to the parents for the wonderful support today.
A big thank you to Munster and Irish rugby star Peter O’Mahony for visiting the school today. The children received some wonderful advice from Peter and asked him some excellent questions.
Best of luck to the 2nd class boys and girls who are receiving their Holy Communion.
Congratulations to the 6th class boys who reached the county finals of the Spar FAI Schools socer competition which was held in Turners Cross. The boys had previously won their two other competitions to qualify for the finals. After some titanic tussles with Kilworth, Midleton and Aghada, the boys did themselves, families and the school very proud. A very strong Midleton team were victorious on the day and we wish them the best of luck in the Munster finals.
3rd class contructed wonderful motte and baileys recently. There was some excellent team work in involved in their creation. Well done to all.
Congratulations to the 6th class boys who qualified for the next round of the FAI Schools Soccer Blitz. Well done to all involved.
